The Witcher three: Wild Hunt is now PS4™ Pro Enhanced

The Witcher iii: Wild Chase has just received an upgrade patch, enabling the game to have advantage of the additional power offered past the PS4™ Pro system.

When playing the game on a PS4™ Pro system, The Witcher iii: Wild Hunt and all its boosted content feature support for 4K resolution and a slight boost to performance.

If yous own a PS4™ Pro and haven't played The Witcher 3 nevertheless, or are simply looking to relive Geralt's final chance again — it'south a great time to exercise so.

I wouldn't expect the patch to exist released before XboneX release.
Information technology just makes sense for them to work on both and release them around aforementioned time.

Well ... it appears that CDPR simply released the patch for the PS4 Pro.
Kinda makes sense, if you inquire me. From what I empathise the Xbox One 10 is not simply decidedly more powerful when it comes to rendering 2K+ resolution but also able to provide college quality avails (textures, particular level, leaf altitude scaling, etc.), thus providing the unquestionable superior* (console) version of the game. Making the Sony patch available over a month prior to Microsoft'south launch of their new hardware is probably intended to mitigate some Pro fans' irritation at that item fact (also, having to wait a whole twelvemonth before receiving any attention at all) simply past virtue of avoiding a simultaneous release and the resulting head-to-head comparisons.

*unless CDPR opted for parity and did not accept full advantage of the new machine'southward capabilities.

Edit: At starting time glance in that location doesn't seem to exist any additional options in the graphics card, suggesting indeed that the patch but added college resolution (and nearly likely downsampling for 1080p Goggle box owners) and, at all-time, some slight graphical improvements. Against ameliorate sentence I had hoped that there might be a improved graphics style for the standard HD version akin to what the developers did for Rise of the Tomb Raider and Horizon Zero Dawn.

one.51 seems like major footstep in version number. I wonder whether there were fabricated whatever changes that volition also translate to PC.

Any insight into details? Marcin_Momot

Care to share any details? Whatever substantial changes that would benefit PC like fixed ubersampling?

I'd love to encounter HDR support as well for both PC and PS4 :)

I was hoping my patch is bugged simply this is very disappointing if it isnt. Ive held of playing the game again until this patch was released , expecting FULL pro support. This pro patch entrada is a little misleading.

It took all that time to practise for what? No HDR back up , no 4K support , no new brandish options etc

What does the patch do?

Probably 1440p-ish upscaled to 2160p "4K" and slightly more stable framerate.

I had the same question. I wonder what the modify exactly was. Higher parallelism and using more cores for something? Or it'southward a change in graphics?

Seeing as it doesn't look like anyone else is going to say i'll say... THANKYOU!

Well, I'yard on PC, but, in the spirit of witcher solidarity, I'll say it, also -- and so you don't feel lonely: Thanks, CDPR!

Someone else also having trouble with Fan noises since the new patch?
My PS4 pro is having troubles. Out of nowhere starts making noise like never before. In cutscenes and in normal play at random times. Help!!

And then, I'm on a PS4 Pro too, but i play on a 1080p Television.

So, does that patch do something on a not 4K Display besides?

And does it brand any departure if i enable Boost mode?

Any insights on those above?

THANKS! ;)

From what I have seen on other forums, information technology looks like higher resolution (mayhap with checkerboard rendering or other trick to amend the frame charge per unit) and maybe some tweaks to the graphics settings. The version bump could be but to betoken that it is for a newer generation console. I did not find mentions of a planned update on PC.

I also have problem with Fan noises since the new patch release . Its whatsoever hazard to rollback or uninstall this "upgrade"?

I highly dubiety a game can have any degree of command over PS4 hardware, being a closed system every bit it is. Instead the PS4 Os (or it's "BIOS") controls all of that. Then the fan noises is simply a effect of the new heavier load and consequently more than rut produced past the game'due south now better utilization of the hardware.

In short, the game is highly unlikely to be the crusade of the louder fan noise. It'south either the console Bone or most probably too much dust in the cooling arrangement. I recommend dusting your console out.

I play east.1000 Horizon Nix Down likewise and my PS4Pro don't be louder fans work. My panel is louder when i play witcher 3 onyly, afterwards install this update.

Yeah, this is exactly the kind of reply I expected. I didn't say this to show how smart I am, which may probably be quite the contrary. I only wanted to point out that if something's okay in one game and not another, this can actually mean a lot of other things rather than the "obvious": "that'due south the other game's fault." In all honesty this near likely simply means that the Witcher iii puts the organization under heavier load than, say, Horizon Nothing Dawn. Over again, if I were you I'd first just find a way to dust my panel out and see if that helps and if it doesn't, simply and then I'd start suspecting the game, but once more it'south extremely unlikely the game tin can influence the fan speeds.
